YOUR ROLE AS A BUILDING INSPECTOR
You will conduct hands-on inspections of residential and commercial construction projects to ensure compliance with building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical codes. Your responsibilities include reviewing building plans for new construction and remodels, approving projects that meet regulations, and advising contractors and residents on permit and code questions. You will address concerns, investigate potential zoning and safety violations, prepare reports or demolition warrants, issue Certificates of Occupancy, enter inspection results into the city’s system, and collaborate with other departments to maintain safe and compliant properties in the community.
We offer a full-time schedule from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.
